We're back home after all our trips to do battle with the garden! We visited Iain, Alana and Lily in the Shaws' new home (if a 400-year-old former pub can be called "new") in Knaresborough and feasted on fine food. Ian didn't bump his head too many times but some of the ceilings are definitely Alana-sized! Knaresborough is a lovely little town (I've been there once before to visit Mother Shipton's Cave, a local calcification highlight (people hang out objects which subsequently become petrified as the lime drips down on them - they know how to make their own fun in Yorkshire). We have some pleasant walks although the Shaws' house is at the bottom of a hill of positively "Hovis ad" steepness!
