Quirky boys

Rowan is starting to realise he can make people laugh. This is something Finn realised at a similar age but it can be infuriating when you are trying to get him to eat his dinner and he is rolling his eyes and pulling funny faces instead. The other day he kept singing songs at the table despite Sharon's best efforts to get him to eat lunch. Finally he stated flatly, "I sing Twinkle Twinkle, then I eat lunch." He duly did the first part without fulfilling the second part of the bargain. This is a familiar trait with Rowan: he agrees to do something but if you have to do your part first, or allow him to do what he wants first, he invariably welches on the deal. His parting reply to Sharon's "I love you" as she dropped him off at nursery was "I love your nose."

Finn's sense of humour is developing and he can now pull off the odd joke with a degree of success. Whilst watching the Ketchup Song video last week, the boys were trying to mimic the dancing girls. Finn's remark was "they're going so fast I can't ketch-up!"

Sharon recalled the drive back to Shannon Aiport the other week when Finn had fallen asleep and Sean was being very quiet. She asked Sean what he was up to and he said he was playing a game in his head, trying to spot the numbers 1 to 15 out the window. He then listed off the numbers he had still to tick off, asking Sharon to look out for him and tell him if she saw them. Sharon's remark to me on this was "that is so you!"
